'UP FOR SALE' EP REVIEWED!
The Parkinsons
' Up for Sale' EP has received a great review in the August edition
of Maximum Rock N' Roll:
"Not
to be outdone by their well-mannered mainland European countries,
England has come forward, risen to the occasion, thrown down the
gauntlet, and stepped up to the plate. Awash with the quality and
quantity of the homegrown variety (wher were you all when I was
stuck there for four long years?) the Parkinsons can add their name
to the ever-growing, prestigious list. Definite '77 vibes with garage
styling; rawer than the Briefs, more controller than the Pokers,
and a little touch of ew wave vibe as once mastered by the Exploding
Hearts. I'm sure they love Johnny Thunders and the Dead Boys as
much as they dig the Damned. You'll be singing this one all the
way down to the off-license and back. Rocking, loud and bursting
with energy."

PARKINSONS
PLAY FINAL GIG!
Following their
hugely successful farewell dates in Portugal, The Parkinsons played
for the final time last night at the Dirty Water Club in London.
The band played an extra long set to a crazed audience, and were
joined on stage for five songs by original singer Al Zheimer. And
in true Parkinsons style the evening didn't quite go as planned,
as Al had dislocated his shoulder earlier in the week and ended
up performing with his arm in a sling.. before it fell off halfway
through the first song (that's the sling, not his arm!) The gig
ended in the usual chaos with a 15-minute rendition of 'Try To Put
Me Down'. The guys are now taking a well deserved rest.

THE PARKINSONS
IN THE MUSIC PRESS
The New Wave
single was reviewed in Kerrang magazine, and received 3 Ks out of
a possible 5. There was also a review in the June issue of Rock
Sound magazine; where it received a 6 out 10 rating! The Parkinsons
new album Reason To Resist was reviewed in the 29th May issue
of NME. The review was pretty nondescript, and only gave the album
3 out of 10, but when was the last time NME knew anything about
good music anyway? The Parkinsons are also mentioned in an article
about their old friends The Others in the music section of the Independent's
website. The Others have just been signed to Alan McGee's Poptones
label, and the article explains how The Parkinsons played a huge
part in the band's early days! See the full article here:

NEW LINE-UP
AND STUDIO UPDATE!
The Parkinsons
you'll be seeing and hearing over the upcoming few months may look
and sound a little different to the band you saw last time around,
due to a couple of changes in the line-up.
The band took
a long break to start working on their new material after their
huge world tour in 2002 and it was at this time that the changes
occurred. The Parkinsons were keen to continue on their one-way
route to conquering the world via punk rock destruction, whilst
Afonso had a different direction in mind, so it was mutually agreed
that they would part ways. Victor is now singing his own songs the
way they were always meant to sound, as well as continuing to be
the guitarist and songwriter of the group. Pedro continues to play
bass and provide backing vocals, and the duo are now joined by the
amazing Jet on lead guitar with Eric the speed-demon as their drummer
from hell!
This awesome
foursome really do have to be seen and heard to be believed, and
early reports and gig reviews all prove that the new Parkinsons
are set to be even more badass than the previous line-up, so expect
much more madness and mayhem in the future, and get ready for the
band's new songs, coming soon!
